Water purification….?
The French DO NOT CHLORINATE their water, they OZONATE their water to purify it…..
Does anyone know, what the process of ‘ozonation ‘involves…and why in the UK, we still pour bleach to purify our water? apart from it being cheap….

This site has an excellent overview of the ozonation process. http://www.water-research.net/ozone.htm
Very interesting and fascinating.
The reasons chlorination is preferred in some places is that is is cheaper, it prevents regrowth of bacteria/other bad things, side effects are better known and understood than with ozonation, water doesn’t have to be pretreated to reduce the hardness so it won’t form carbonate scale, no special mixing techniques are involved and finally, doesn’t have the fire hazards or toxicity issues as does ozone generation.
But given all that, I am with you. I think I would prefer the ozonation process over chlorination. The water just tastes better.
Happy drinking!
